Foam Grinding Process
Existing PE foam on the market may not comply in terms of thickness, tolerances and tearing resistance with the demanding requirements of the modern Flexographic applications. At Scapa, we grind PE foams in house in a specially designed grinding machine. Our process does not affect the foam structure nor its density, which guarantees on all Exafit products:
- Unbeatable recovery
- A superior thickness consistency
- Residue โ free removal
Adhesive Technology
The adhesive system also plays an important role in mounting tapes performance as it can make or break an application.
Over the years, Scapa has built up a strong expertise in the designing and coating of the high performance adhesives specially formulated for Flexographic mounting applications.
Our specific technology features:
- Compliance with a wide range of mounting conditions, adhesion โ requirements and substrates
- Graphic grade acrylic adhesive onto cylinder side
- High performance acrylic adhesives with differential adhesion levels onto plate side
Foam Hardness
Different types of print from half-tone to block printing requires different foam hardness linked to the materials that are being printed on. Scapa offers three different levels of foam hardness to meet differing printers needs:
- Soft, pink foam for half โ tone print
- Medium hard, white foam used in block or combination printing
- Hard, blue foam specially developed to use in block print
Design of New Products
Unlikely some of our competitors, we offer the possibility to customise our standard products and, If application justifies, we will even create a totally new product. This is especially true on the Exafit range where your unique applications may require a specific construction.
