New Range of Exafit Flexographic Tapes
Scapa has launched Exafit® - a new range of high performance plate mounting tapes to meet all modern flexographic printing needs.
Three different levels of Exafit® foam hardness allow for great results in half-tone, combination or block printing. New products are colour coded for easier recognition for end users with pink indicating soft foam, white - medium and blue - hard foam. Special adhesive formulations have been developed to give the right contact level between tape and plate.
The adhesive system on the cylinder side ensures adhesion to all substrates such as PU/ epoxy sleeves, steel or aluminium without the need to use additional aids such as lacquers, liquid adhesives or other tapes. In addition the acrylic formulation of Exafit® adhesive provides easy, clean and residue free removal from the cylinder.
Different levels of adhesion on plate side allows for printing on all sizes of cylinders - from very small to very large, and at various speeds. This reduces edge lifting, helping to peel off the tape more easily to reduce plate damage, and enables the use of very thin photopolymer plates.
Scapa grinds foams in-house to exact thickness tolerances. This unique process brings unequalled benefits to the flexographic printer because Exafit® foam morphology is left intact. It results in excellent performance in rebounce and print quality for users, even at very high speeds.
Exafit® also offer an embossed plastic liner which has been developed for ease of applying the plate onto tape, repositioning and reduction in mounting time, to ensure consistent print quality and reduce overall printing cost.
Fifteen different Exafit® products are currently available in the Scapa comprehensive printing and graphics range, offering varying thickness, hardness and adhesion levels, to meet all printing needs.
